Training course in Mozambique ends with lecture on integrated strategic management

The Higher Institute of Public Administration (ISAP), associated with the Ministry of State Administration and Public Function of the Government of Mozambique, hosted the event “Integrated Strategic Management in the Search for Results” on October 20. The lecturer was Professor Marcus Vinicius Rodrigues, Senior Manager for the Center for Cooperation with Africa and Portugal (NuCAP) of FGV’s International Affairs Division (DINT).

The event included participation of the ISAP students, as well as the directors and advisors of the government of Mozambique. Professor Marcus Vinicius, given the current context in Mozambique, was led by ISAP general director Eduardo Chilundo to associate his lecture theme and consequent conceptual model, the purpose of one of his books, to the positions of Mozambique’s president, Filipe Nyusi. The president had spoken a week earlier about a comprehensive public administrationagainst corruption and focused on results in Mozambique.

Variables such as transparency and ethics in management, integration between the units and commitment to the causes of the higher government were already present in Professor Marcus Vinicius’ speech, which facilitated the association and resulted in the lecture having repercussions beyond the ISAP facilities.

In Mozambique, DINT/NuCAP maintains a partnership with the Instituto de Governação Paz e Liderança (IGPL), which is affiliated with Fundação Joaquim Chissano. FGV, through DINT/NuCAP and with local support from the IGPL, is currently planning a training program for employees of the Ministry of State Administration and Public Function throughout the provinces of Mozambique. A package of short-term courses intended for executives in the private sector is also being planned for release in March 2018.
