Economic Survey for Latin America – 1st quarter of 2023

The Economic Climate Index (ECI) rose between the 4th quarter of 2022 and the 1st quarter of 2023, with improvements in six of the 10 main countries analysed.  Brazil moved in the opposite direction, with a further drop in the ECI driven by the Current Situation Index. 

The Latin America Economic Survey is a quarterly survey conducted by FGV IBRE – Brazilian Institute of Economics, with the aim of monitoring and forecasting economic trends in Latin America.
