Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) have established a new academic partnership. FGV’s International Affairs Division has facilitated the signing of the agreement, celebrated between ULisboa’s Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) and FGV’s School of Public Policy and Government (FGV EPPG). The new partnership strengthens and expands the cooperation between the institutions, which already had joint initiatives through the same institute at ULisboa and three other FGV schools: the São Paulo School of Business Administration (EAESP), the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), and the School of Social Sciences (CPDOC).
With collaboration being set up in the areas of research, projects, and information exchange, the new agreement aims to foster joint intellectual production and to increase the amount of student and faculty exchange programs between the two universities. FGV maintains a criterion of collaborating with renowned institutions in their areas of expertise in order to offer a favorable environment for the personal and professional development of its students and faculty.
ULisboa is the 28th best European university according to the Times Higher Education ranking, and is also one of the most internationalized higher education institutions in the continent. Its centennial Institute of Social and Political Sciences offers ten undergraduate programs, sixteen masters programs, and twelve doctoral programs. With a comprehensive research structure that includes eighteen laboratories and observatories, the institute comprises four prominent centers of study: the Center for Public Administration and Public Policy (CAPP), the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies, the Institute of the Orient, and the Center for African Studies (CEAF).
