In order to strengthen the competencies and skills of regional leaders who work in public administration, the private sector and civil society, the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) are running a Training Course on Governance and Public Innovation for Leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean. The new course will be carried in a hybrid learning format and will address topics of  public innovation, govtechs, digital transformation, gender and social inclusion, agile methodologies, climate change and the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Program was developed by CAF in partnership with 17 universities in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the aim of offering a practical and applied approach to governance and public innovation with focus on transformative public leadership. During six months, the course will discuss the region’s strategic sustainable development issues with emphasis on approaches of public innovation, skills and governance tools to achieve the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Classes will start on June 1, 2022, and run until November 30, 2022, totalling 155 hours. At the end of the course, students must present a project, and the one with the best evaluation will be invited to a weeklong in-person bootcamp, which will be held in Washington, D.C., in December, with all expenses paid by CAF.

Those interested in taking the course must go through a selection process, based on resume analysis. Although the costs per student amounts to approximately R$14.000, each of the selected students will pay only 18% of the costs (R$ 2.789,00). CAF will pay for most of the course’s costs.

Participants who successfully complete all the course’s activities will receive a final digital certificate issued by CAF and FGV, attesting to their participation and approval.
