FGV offers training for Leaders and influencers from Guinea-Bissau

A series of classes about digital communication management were run through a partnership between FGV DAPP, FGV DINT and the United Nations Development Program in Guinea-Bissau.

The Digital Communication Management Training Program was carried out for 6 days last April. The initiative was a cooperation between Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Department of Public Policy Analysis (FGV DAPP) and its International Affairs Division (FGV DINT). The program was designed especially for leaders and local influencers who were selected by the United Nations Development Program in Guinea-Bissau.

FGV DAPP researchers, Renata Tomaz and Tatiana Dourado, taught the classes. “Notwithstanding the differences between the digital realities of Brazil and Guinea-Bissau, the escalating circulation of hate speech on social media is affecting both our societies equally and perversely,” Tomaz said after the training program.
The classes addressed the following topics: Social Media as a Political Communication Tool; Digital Communication and Social Media Management; and Confronting Misinformation in Public Communication.
