FGV Student Volunteer Program at the G20

Fundação Getulio Vargas Partners with Brazilian Foreign Ministry to Launch FGV Student Volunteer Program at the G20

Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), in partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), has launched the FGV Volunteer Student Program at the G20. With more than 300 applications, the initiative offers FGV students a unique opportunity to take part in the most significant event in Brazilian diplomacy in recent decades. Between October and November, the selected students will provide logistical, operational and administrative support to representatives from Itamaraty, particularly during the G20 Leaders' Summit, which will be held on November 18 and 19 at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Rio de Janeiro.

The program began on October 2, when the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) held a training event for the selected volunteers. The ceremony was attended by FGV's International Director, Marlos Lima, and featured presentations by Minister Felipe Hees, Sous Sherpa of the G20 Brazil at the MRE; Minister Carlos Villanova, National Coordinator for Organization and Logistics of the Brazilian Presidency of the G20 at the MRE; and diplomat João Montenegro, Deputy Coordinator for Organization and Logistics of the G20 at the MRE. The event brought together 81 students from Rio de Janeiro and more than 70 from São Paulo, who participated virtually.

The program includes 240 students from 10 FGV schools, divided into 32 sectors. Each sector is led by a Brazilian diplomat, who will provide specific training and guidance to the student volunteers, ensuring that they are prepared to perform their duties with excellence. This experience not only enriches the participants' CVs, but also strengthens Brazil's role on the international stage, highlighting FGV's commitment to training leaders capable of facing global challenges.
