What is the role of the International Affairs Division at FGV?
The International Affairs Division is responsible for bridging the gap between FGV and the international environment. By supporting the units in the formulation, execution and evaluation of their internationalization strategies, it contributes to strengthening FGV's positioning as a think tank and a world-renowned teaching and research institution.
As an international arm, it is also responsible for identifying opportunities and developing activities such as: applied research, academic cooperation, project consulting, executive training and corporate diplomacy. The board's role, then, is to stimulate initiatives that meet the needs of the public and private sectors around the world.

What are the International Affairs Division’s areas of activity?
The International Affairs Division works in the academic, commercial and research spheres, offering strategic services in the areas of economics, business management, public administration, executive education, among others.
The academic area deals with the management of academic cooperation agreements with partner educational institutions, as well as with the support to FGV units in the promotion and organization of academic mobility opportunities.
The commercial area offers consulting services and various customized tools in different market niches, developed in partnership with FGV units. It is also responsible for coordinating continuing-education courses, update courses and specialization courses aimed at international partners interested in FGV's areas of expertise.
The research sector has its performance defined amid the demands of commercial and academic areas. It is responsible for evaluating international scenarios and generating data for better decision-making. It is also responsible for offering targeted research according to the demands of both public and private customers.

FGV during the COVID-19 pandemic
During the course of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Fundação Getulio Vargas has taken a number of measures in order to prevent further spread of the disease and carry on with its activities.
FGV has prepared a plan to carry out gradual and safe institutional resumption until approval by the responsible agencies for the complete return of on-site activities, making sure to always follow the health standards required by the Brazilian Ministry of Health.

Academic

Who can apply for exchange programs at FGV?
You can be an exchange student at FGV if your home institution has a cooperation agreement with the FGV school to which you wish to apply. You must be selected by your home institution for the program.
If your home institution does not have an agreement with FGV, there is still the possibility of applying as a Freemover Student. In this case, the FGV school must accept this exchange modality.

What are the options for exchange programs at FGV Schools?
FGV Schools offer academic and/or research mobility options at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. The offers are made available by the schools themselves, and, to learn more about the programs, fill out our form and we will respond with more information.

How do I find out if my home institution has an agreement with FGV?
To find out about the validity of agreements between an FGV School and your home institution, it is necessary to consult your institution's study-abroad department. If there is no existing or planned agreement, it is necessary to verify if the FGV school where you would like to study accepts Freemovers students. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will get back to you shortly.

How can I apply for exchange programs at FGV?
First, you must be selected and nominated by your home institution.
After your appointment, the FGV School where you wish to do the exchange will contact you and send all other necessary information.

When can I apply?
It is necessary to check with your home institution about the deadlines for the selection of exchange students. Once nominated, the student must follow the instructions received directly from the FGV schools.

Who should I contact at FGV for questions related to exchange programs?
All FGV schools have an International Relations Coordination, which is the sector responsible for exchange programs. Schools will indicate specific coordinators to contact. Keep an eye out for the FGV school's email after your appointment.

In what language are the classes offered?
Most courses are offered in Portuguese, but some programs are offered in English.

Where can I find the list of subjects to create my Study Plan/Learning Agreement?
FGV Schools make the list of subjects available during the academic period directly to nominated students. .
9.
What costs are students responsible for during the Exchange Program?
Foreign students wishing to undertake an academic exchange at one of the FGV Schools must pay for their own personal expenses, transportation, accommodation, food and travel insurance. Fees charged by the FGV school must be consulted during the foreign student's application process.

Do FGV schools offer scholarships?
FGV offers several types of scholarships and student subsidies to its students, national or foreign. More information here.
11.
Is proof of proficiency in Portuguese required?
Foreign students who wish to do an exchange program in any of the FGV schools must present proof of knowledge of Portuguese or English, as applicable.
12.
What are the documents required for my application?
Foreign students must follow the guidelines of the FGV school to which they intend to apply. Some personal and essential documents for the stay in Brazil are: passport, National Migration Registry (RNM) and travel insurance.
Students will be guided by the FGV school on the academic process.
